What an amazing weekend. We ended up not doing as much as I thought, and I got to spend a lot of times outside.
We managed to get a real Christmas tree this year, after several years of having a fake one. I love the smell of a real tree, and even though it sheds, it's still nice to have in the house.
Peanut loves the Christmas lights, and every time we go past a house with lots of lights she'll pipe up, "Ah! Kiss-miss yights!" This morning, I hadn't turned on the Christmas tree lights yet, and while she was eating breakfast, she wrinkled her little brow at me, and said "turn them on!" as only a 2 1/2 year old can do.
Dad and I got to take the boat out for the first time yesterday, and it was beautiful. I wore shorts the entire afternoon, and even though we didn't catch any fish, it was nice to spend a few hours with my dad.
The lakes around these parts, though, are in very poor shape. We haven't had more than a few sprinkles of rain this whole year, and the lake we went to yesterday was about 30 feet low. The water line at the boat ramp was about 200 yard further down than it was in February.
And then I woke up to 41, cloudy, and windy today. It is definitely Monday.
